Help me, how to change bots names in Counter Strike: Condition Zero PC game. Yes, you can change bots names in Counter Strike: Condition Zero PC game. Just follow this simple instructions.
Go to the instalation folder: Valve -> Condition Zero -> cstrike
and open BotProfile.db with NotePad
edit the name as you wish, make a backup before you edit
but remember to give the name by A-Z accordingly.
Eg: name aba must be before abe
Eg: name baa must be before bba etc
Another note, no spacing allowed.
After finish editing, save.
Copy the edited file and paste in Valve -> Condition Zero -> czero
Replace the existing one.
Done!
When you play CS:CZ, by pressing menu key (default H),
if you see Chinese characters and in most computers, only see box characters,
you can change the language to English.
I think this can be done by clicking something like registry key in the installation folder.
But I’m not sure about that,
my method is fully replacing the file.
Go to Valve -> Condition Zero -> cstrike
Replace the original commandmenu.txt with this one.
(Note that the file only can be replaced if the game is CS:CZ and the file’s CRC32 hash is F99535FE)
If you yet to know this, more advance setting can be done by editing the setting files manually.
You don’t have the ability to edit the setting in the game.
You can browse in the installation directory and inside the sub-directories.
Open any file with NotePad, edit and save the ones that can be edited. Of course, backup first.
You can try and error by yourself, I don’t know which files neither,
but actually I already edited a few setting by this method.
You also can edit Bot difficulty and aggressiveness.
What I like most is, I tried a few times to change the sfx.
You know, the voice over the radio:
“Stop it!”
“I can’t see!”
“There’s to many!”
“Fire in the hole!”
the one I like most is the voice when dying “Aaaahhhhh!!!!”
and so on
I would like to change them to my own spoken language,
Sounded cool, huh…
But, lack of equipments make me gave up…
If you like it too, you can do so..
You may start in Valve -> Condition Zero -> cstrike -> sound -> radio ->bot
and in Valve -> Condition Zero -> czero -> sound -> radio ->bot
I think files in the both folders are the same, just like commandmenu.txt.
Edit the ones in the first directory and then replace the ones in second directory.
Once again, backup the voices, if you dislike your own voices, you can revert to the original ones,
else you need to reinstall the game.
